OVERCOMING HEALTH ISSUES DEFINED FAINA'S FUTURE

Lately we all have things we are trying to overcome with the Coronavirus pandemic currently ruling our lives and the world.  This makes it easy to forget the daily struggles that people have to deal with in life.  I'd like to introduce you to Faina (pronounced FI-EE-NA) Zbarsky, a senior at West Chester University who is trying, like many are, to wrap up her senior year remotely, and hopefully within the next few months, have the opportunity to celebrate the traditional college graduation ceremony that all students look forward to celebrating.  Faina has experienced her own personal struggle that started several years back. But with strength, determination and the will to win the fight, she has persevered and prevailed.  Here is Faina's SHE STRONG story in her own words.  Thanks so much for sharing your story with us, Faina!! 

In high school I was diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease. It’s a complex disease that’s very common but not many people are educated on and many doctors are still learning about. It’s caused many hardships for me through out my young life and I had to worry about my health in a way most teens did not. I was constantly in pain, tired, moody, and frustrated that I did not feel well enough to do things my friends were doing. It affected my social life, my education, and my mental health. I became very health conscious at a young age because I hated the way this disease made me feel. Instead of falling victim to it, I made many life changes to feel the best that I could. I changed my diet, I started exercising, getting into natural supplements and holistic medicine, and did tons of research so I can now help others. This journey helped me realize my passion in life lies in health care and I want to help people for the rest of my life! After getting through the lows that this disease has caused me and coming out stronger on the other side, I know I can do anything I put my mind to!
